Platinum Mobile
Macalester Telecom of America (MTA) dba Platinum Mobile (Platinum) is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) partnered with Sprint. The Company purchases wholesale mobile wireless services from Sprint and resells those services under its own prepaid brand.
As an MVNO, MTA operates as a “national carrier” licensed and regulated by the FCC. The Company manages all activations, plans, pricing, marketing, billing and support for all of its wireless offerings. MTA defines, owns and maintains the relationship with its subscribers. By outsourcing certain functions of the business, the Company doesn’t need the capital investment to build expensive infrastructure that would require a large subscriber volume to achieve a break-even point. The Company only handles sales and marketing on which the Company’s management team previously built a sales and distribution company, Platinum Wireless, into an industry leader.
MTA has created a unique product offering: a flat talk, text and data package in a pre-paid quarterly or annual agreement. The Company is in discussions with a number of “Big Box” retailers such as Costco, Walgreens, Sam’s Club, and other retail organizations to develop, promote and sell these offerings to their respective memberships alongside the big four “tier-one” carriers - Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint. Positioned as the provider of premium wireless talk, text and data services at wholesale prices, MTA will also sell direct, focusing on value conscious consumers - individuals, families and small businesses - that place high importance on simplicity, value and customer service.
